Betfair, which pioneered the concept and already offers in-running markets on UK horseracing, believes Australian punters will flock to the concept. The betting exchange technology allows horse racing enthusiasts to bet during the race right up to the winning post.

Crocmedia America and expat Australian business group Advance hosted a panel discussion between former Aussie Rules Football star James Hird and Adobe business leader Al Ramadan in San Francisco on September 8. A standing room only crowd packed the conference room at the Kirkland & Ellis law offices to hear “Sport Talks to Business: The Pressure Game”.
The talk was moderated by Crocmedia America President, James Swanwick. Hird talked about the role sport had in preparing him for life as a businessman at his sports marketing company, Gemba. Ramadan discussed the role of technology in sport and Adobe’s latest advances.

Crocmedia Australia was contracted by the AFL Players’ Association (AFLPA) to implement a Public Relations campaign to maximize exposure for the AFLPA Most Valuable Player Awards.
The MVP award has been a football tradition since 1982 and was held on Monday 8 September 2008. . Each year the AFL Players Association presents five awards to players of the game. These awards are the only awards where players are recognized by their peers.

Aboriginal Australian chef Mark Olive has been chosen as the face of Crocmedia client’s Australian Made-Australian Grown campaign in New York. Crocmedia generates media coverage in North America for Australian food and wine carrying the Australian Made-Australian Grown label.

Good sport Conner was helping California-based Aussies celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 1983 America’s Cup win, while helping promote premium Western Australian wines which were served on board. Crocmedia’s Corporate & Content Division has appointed two new members.
Alana Lakeland and Tristan Foenander will work on the All Night Appetite radio program and others on a part-time basis.
Lakeland has quickly established a strong following in her weekly slot on the All Night Appetite. She also works as an assistant producer on Crocmedia’s flagship radio show Off the Bench as well as writing for footyheads.com.au.

Miriam Carr has joined the Melbourne office in the role of PR account coordinator.
Carr has been working one day per week since July and has proven to be a valuable member of the team. Carr is currently completing her Advanced Diploma of Business – Public Relations part time. She also has a Diploma of Music Theatre.
